Il
10 dicembre 2011 è stata inaugurata nel Museo Ladino di Fassa l’ultima sala
dedicata agli avvenimenti che dal 1900 ad oggi hanno caratterizzato e segnato
la storia della valle di Fassa.
La
presenza di alcune postazioni multimediali e le installazioni artistiche
segnano il passaggio dalla tradizione alla contemporaneità, avvenuta in Fassa
nell’ultimo decennio.
L’artista
canadese Althea Thauberger è presente con un wallpaper ed un video, realizzati
in valle e presentati a MANIFESTA 7 nel 2007 . Althea Thauberger sceglie di
lavorare sulla rivisitazione di una leggenda tradizionale La Mort y la Miseria presentandola con un linguaggio
attuale, e proponendo una lettura da un punto di vista insolito, indagando i
punti critici della società fassana di oggi.

un’opera del Pascalin Project, che sebbene decontestualizzata, tenta di
dare una lettura a tutto campo dell’impatto del mercato del turismo e della
globalizzazione che ardisce di travolgere la società di Fassa e il proprio
abitat in un processo di massificazione di facciata, che insieme al resto del
mondo rischia di condurre alla deriva.
